Polly's Ranch

The Project

Polly's Ranch for Special Kids, is a non-profit association that gives children from 3 to 18 years the opportunity to enjoy pleasant moments with ponies. Driving, cuddling, caring, everything is possible. Ponies do not judge whether you have limitations or feel bad about yourself. They also visit hospitals or institutions with the ponies, to visit seriously ill, rehabilitating or palliative children so that they can forget their worries and illness for a while and enjoy the unconditional love of a pony.

The Order of the Fleur de Lys, Montgomery Company No 3, Belgium had originally planned a sponsored concert 'Sing a Song' on April 4, but COVID-19 meant that it was cancelled. Because the planned goal, the Summer Camp of Polly's Ranch for Special Kids, which took place from 27th until 31st July, is close to the heart of the members, the artist of the concert, Chevalier Danny Vandijck, decided to do some live-stream concerts via Facebook. The Company was able to persuade the attracted sponsors to permit the use of the sponsorship money for the proposed project.

The Company was delighted to be able to support the Summer Camp paying for the food, special sanitary units and the registration fee for 2 children, including the supply of a large tent for activities in bad weather.

Thanks to the selfless efforts of 20 young students as supervisors, 16 children with a mental or physical disability were able to enjoy a carefree week, with ponies, friends and fun activities. For a moment there was no COVID-19 or other worries and a smile was put on their faces.
