No 4 City of London Company Charitable Donation Match Funding
Following the very generous Charitable donations made by Members of No 4 City of London Company and their guest at various functions during 2024 we have been awarded an added £250.00 charitable Match Funding contribution from the Fleur de Lys Foundation.
Match funding is received from the Foundation for the Company to distribute either to their Company charity or, as a preferred option, to a small local charity which meets the requirements of the Foundation criteria.
Following consultation with the Company Executive, having given all members the opportunity to make recommendations as to a suitable small charity and with the approval of the Sovereign Grand Commander The Company Commander and the Company Charities Representative approved a donation of £250.00 to “BexleySnap’.
‘BEXLEYSNAP’ www.bexleysnap.org.uk (Charity No 1167151) offer disabled children and young people an exciting and varied programme of clubs to provide parents and carers support. This small local charity has a minimum full-time staff and is reliant on a dedicated group of volunteers to help in the day to day running of activities for the children.
Recently the Company Commander and the Charities Representative visited the premises of ‘BexleySnap’. met the three staff members, including the MD who explained the facility and the activities that they offer to disable children and their parents. We were given a guided tour of the very impressive facilities and an explanation of future works.
We were delighted to present to this worthy cause, on behalf of the FDLF, a cheque for £250.00 which was very gratefully receive, with the confirmation that all would be used for the benefit of the children.
This organisation is supported, mainly by generous contributions and sponsorship from local organisation including Masonic Lodges / Chapter, Rotary etc. We would recommend visiting the above website for more details of their work and invite everybody to view at www.bexleysnap.org.uk and take a virtual tour of the site and its work.
